Affogato with Espresso Flavour Pearls

Ahhh my favourite dessert  Affogato literally means “drowned” in Italian and it is essentially drowning ice cream in coffee. We of course have modified our recipe here to showcase our Limited Edition Espresso Flavour Pearls and have added some oh so delicious Kahlua. 

This actually makes it so much easier to serve too. No fussing about with the coffee machine and having the ice-cream melt too quickly. You could also easily substitute the Kahlua for another liqueur or keep it alcohol free by using a flavoured syrup, hazelnut would be delish. 

What you’ll need…

  • Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
  • Liqueur or Syrup of choice – We used Kahlua in ours
  • Espresso Flavour Pearls
  • Fancy glasses

Lets get started

Simply check that your glass ware is clean and cool if not cold from the fridge and you have a spoon or scoop handy for the ice cream. 

Ready to serve

I used a dessert spoon to scoop the ice cream into the glasses, don’t be stingy here! Add a splash of Liqueur or Syrup into each glass and top with a generous spoonful of Espresso Flavour Pearls. (Salted Caramel Flavour Pearls would be a good substitution if Espresso is not your thing) 

Dessert is done!
