Blackbean Pork with Smoked Honey Flavour Pearls and Slaw

Pork fillets have been marinated in Black Bean Sauce and quickly seared on a hot grill plate. Our Limited Edition Smoked Honey Flavour Pearls add a delightful sweetness, balancing the saltiness of the Black Beans. Served with steamed Jasmine Rice and a simple Slaw. A great mid week entertaining meal idea.

What you’ll need

To do

The Pork fillet will need to have the silvery sinew removed. Watch this clip if you’re not sure how. Cut the Pork into pieces around 1 to 1.5 inch thick. Now we need to flatten them with a mallet. Place a plastic bag or glad wrap on the bench. Put each piece of Pork, cut side up onto the plastic. (leave space as they will get larger as they become flatter) Top the Pork with more plastic (otherwise it will stick to your mallet) Watch this clip to see a demonstration

Gently flatten the Pork until it’s around 5mm thick (1/2 cm)

Combine the Ginger and Garlic with enough Black Bean Sauce to coat the Pork in a bowl and add the Pork. This can be refrigerated until required.

Next

Get the Jasmine Rice cooking. Use 1 cup of Rice to 1.5 cups Water. Just cook it the way you usually would. I cook mine in the microwave at home. Usually 10 minutes then give a stir. Pop on for 5 or so minutes at a time until the water is absorbed and rice cooked. Give a stir and pop a lid or glad wrap on until required.

For the Slaw – Simply finely sliced/shred the Cabbage and Radishes. Also slice the Spring Onion. We used a mandolin to get our Cabbage super fine. Just make enough to fit in your serving dish. Dress with a little Roasted Sesame Dressing just before serving.

To serve

Get your grill plate or BBQ super hot. Sear your Pork well on both sides. Pile them on to a serving plate as you cook them. Garnish with some sliced Chilli and Spring Onion then top with Smoked Honey Flavour Pearls. Pop your Slaw and warmed Rice into serving dishes. Add a little torn Seaweed to finish the Slaw.

Enjoy 🙂
