There are more than 160 individual Pearls in a 50 g jar.
We recommend 10 Pearls or 2 – 3 grams is a serve. You may need more or less depending on your dish though. A canape would need only a few Pearls for impact.
We use pectin as our gelling agent. For example in our Balsamic Flavour Pearls the outside consists of Balsamic Vinegar and pectin.
Using Balsamic Flavour Pearls as our example, the liquid is the same balsamic vinegar as the Pearl just without any pectin in it.
We make regular small batches of Flavour Pearls and put a best before date of 12 months from their production day. Once you open them, please store them in the fridge. We recommend consuming them within around 3 weeks. But saying that many of our flavours are high acid or high sugar (eg: Balsamic Vinegar) so will last far longer. Please just use your discretion.
Yes… but only after they have been opened… they will need to be stored in the fridge.
No they will not melt! We heat pasteurise the Flavour Pearls in the jar at above 93 degrees Celsius at production. The reason you may not easily see the Pearls is because the pearls and the fill liquid in the jar are the same colour. We choose not to add any additional colour to either liquid.
Yes they can be successfully frozen without losing the "liquid burst" once defrosted.
Yes – they are actually vegan (the honey varieties are vegetarian). Also gluten free. Dairy free too.
