Vanilla Panna Cotta with Floss, Turkish Delight and Rosewater Flavour Pearls

Vanilla Panna Cotta is an impressive dessert. It looks fancy but it’s actually not very difficult to make, I promise! Our NEW Limited Edition Rosewater Flavour Pearls gave us the inspiration to make this very pretty dish but you could certainly feature a different flavour depending on what you fancy.

Freeze Dried Fruits are fabulous if you want to add some delicious crunch to your Vanilla Panna Cotta dish too. We added a sprinkle of finely chopped Pistachio Nuts to ours. Raspberry Flavour Pearls and Raspberry Flavour Finisher or Tangerine Flavour Pearls and freeze Dried Mandarin would be gorgeous!

What you’ll need – 4 serves

For the panna cotta

  • 3 gelatine leaves (if you want a vegetarian version you can use agar…take a look at this recipe)
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 ml double cream
  • 1 vanilla bean, split length ways, seeds scraped out
  • 25 g sugar
  • Moulds to set the Panna Cotta in
And to finish

To do

Soak the gelatine leaves in a little cold water until soft. Place the milk, cream, vanilla pod, seeds and sugar into a pan and bring to a gentle simmer. Remove the vanilla pod and discard. Squeeze the water out of the gelatine leaves, then add to the pan and take off the heat. Stir until the gelatine has dissolved.

We used silicon chocolate moulds to get our dome shapes or you can go old school and use a ramekin or plastic dariole mould. Divide the mixture among your moulds and leave to cool. Place into the fridge for at least an hour, until set.

When it’s time to serve

To serve, turn each panna cotta out onto a serving plate and add your chosen garnishes. (ours popped out nice and easily from the dome shaped moulds)

If you are reading this after the Limited Edition is no longer available there are many other flavours that work beautifully with this dessert.

**The pannacotta can be prepared days in advance…making this an ideal dinner party dessert idea. No one wants to be run ragged with too much kitchen time at the last minute!
