Questions about Flavour Pearls

 

Q – How many Pearls are in a jar?

A – There are more than 160 individual Pearls in a 50 g jar.

 

Q – Where can I buy them?

A – You can buy them from our on-line store, we post Australia wide. We are also stocked in many fine food stores, see our stockists tab for more information.

 

Q – Do you sell them to restaurants and bars?

A – Yes we do…please call us (03) 9773 6403 or send us an email and we will get you a product list ASAP 

 

Q – Do the retailers stock all of the flavours?

A – Some of our retailers do but not all. It’s a good move to phone ahead and ask.  Often they can order in what you need.

 

Q – What is the outside of the Pearl made from?

A – We use pectin as our gelling agent. For example in our Apple Flavour Pearls the outside consists of Apple juice and pectin.

 

Q – What is the liquid that the Pearls are in inside the jar?

A – Using Balsamic Flavour Pearls as our example, the liquid is the same balsamic vinegar as the Pearl just without any pectin in it.

 

Q – Do they need to be refrigerated?

A – After they have been opened yes they do need to be stored in the fridge.

 

Q – I can’t see any Pearls in my unopened jar. I think they have melted. Do Flavour Pearls melt?

A – No they will not melt! We heat pasturise the Flavour Pearls in the jar at above 93c at production. The reason you may not easily see the Pearls is because the pearls and the fill liquid in the jar are the same liquid. We choose not to add any additional colour to either liquid.

 

Q – Can you freeze them?

A – Yes they can be successfully frozen without losing the liquid burst once defrosted.

 

Q – Are they vegetarian?

A – Yes – they are actually vegan. Also gluten free. Dairy free too.

 

Q – Can you serve them on hot foods?

A – Yes you can.

 

Q – Will they dissolve in my Champagne or cocktail?

A – No they will not.
