Apple and Ginger-Mint Spritz made Christmassy with Spiced Cranberry Flavour Pearls
We love to start our Christmas festivities with a fun cocktail. This one is refreshing and not overly sweet which is perfect for an Australian Christmas. See if you can get your hands on some fresh holly leaves, they look so festive with the Spiced Cranberry Flavour Pearls
This cocktail is really simple to make. Just have your ingredients and glasses prepped and it won’t take long to mix and pour when you need it. It’s delicious with or without alcohol too.
What you’ll need…
- Sparkling Apple Juice
- Ginger Beer
- Gin or Vodka or even Bourbon – see what’s in the cabinet and perhaps make a cheeky taster to decide!
- Mint – Chiffonade
- Ice
- Jug
- Cocktail Glasses
- Tray for ease of serving
- Syrup
- Sugar
- Spiced Cranberry Flavour Pearls
- Holly leaves
To do…
First let’s get the glasses ready. I love to dip the glass rims in sugar as it tastes delicious and also adds to the festive look. You will need 2 small plates. Place a small amount (half a centimeter) of sugar syrup – even a little cordial on one plate and half a centimeter of fine white sugar on the other. Simply dip the glass into the syrup then the sugar and set aside until required. I quite like to put them on a tray so it’s a little easier to serve them later on.
If you’ve managed to get your hands on some holly leaves you may just need to give them a quick wash.
Next…
Finely chiffonade your mint leaves. Half fill your jug with ice and add some ice to each glass. Top each glass with a little mint, a holly leaf and a spoon of Spiced Cranberry Flavour Pearls.
Ready to serve…
Simply combine equal parts sparkling apple and ginger beer and as much or as little of your chosen spirit as you wish directly in the jug. Add in a little mint. Give it a stir and and it’s ready.
Fill each glass and just top up your jug again with another mix (round 2 always comes along quickly at our place – so nice to have it ready to go)
Cheers and Merry Christmas.
