Green Beans with Shitake, Bamboo Shoots and Ponzu Flavour Pearls
This recipe for Green Beans with Shitake, Bamboo Shoots and Ponzu Flavour Pearls is a great side dish.Wonderfully rich and meaty Shitake Mushrooms are divine with fresh crisp Green Beans and the Umami hit of our Ponzu Flavour Pearls. I’d love to serve this with Fish, Tofu or some grilled or poached Chicken. A simple grilled Baramundi portion or a whole baked or steamed Snapper. Yum!
What you’ll need
- Aprox 200g Green Beans – trim
- Aprox 200g Fresh Shitake Mushrooms – remove woody stem and cut an X into the cap
- Sesame oil – dash
- Olive or Vegetable Oil – dash
- Garlic – 2 – 5 cloves sliced
- Bamboo Shoots – 1 x 230g tin, drained (or Waterchesnuts if you prefer)
- Chilli Oil – a small spoonful if desired
- Ponzu Flavour Pearls
To do
Get a Wok, Frypan or Pot that has a lid nice and hot on the stove. Add a dash of Oil then the Shitake caps. Give them a bit of a stir around and let them cook for a good 5 or so minutes.
Next
Add in a dash of Sesame Oil and the sliced Garlic. Once it has a little colour add in the Green Beans and a dash of water. Pop the lid on to steam out the Beans until just tender. Add the Bamboo Shoots and season well.
To serve
Simply pile everything onto a platter or bowl. Top with a jar of Ponzu Flavour Pearls, liquid and all and enjoy.
