
Aussie Greek Salad with Pickled Beetroot Flavour Pearls
Our Aussie Greek Salad with Pickled Beetroot Flavour Pearls is a fabulously quick dish to prepare. No actual preparation to be done, just a little chopping. Yes, the addition of our Limited Edition Beetroot Flavour Pearls is what add’s the Aussie to the dish! A Greek Salad is one of my favourite salads, not leafy at all just all good bits. You most likely have many of the ingredients in the fridge and pantry already too. We’ve added Capers and Capsicum to ours as well as the usual ingredients. Feel free to add or remove anything you fancy.
What you’ll need
- Tomatoes – cut into wedges/halves/dice depending on varieties and size
- Cucumber – slice or dice
- Capsicum – slice or dice
- Spanish onion – fine slice
- Kalamata Olives
- Capers
- Fetta Cheese – we used a creamy Danish Fetta
- Oregano – dried or fresh
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper
- Pickled Beetroot Flavour Pearls
(Balsamic or Lemon & Black Pepper Flavour Pearls are a great subsitute if not available)
To do
There are two ways to do this – if you are eating a little later or transporting the salad you can prettily arrange your chopped salad ingredients onto a dish or platter, scatter the Capers, Olives and Oregano on last. Ready to finish after.
Or if you are serving immediately you can gently combine the ingredients in a mixing bowl with a dash of EV Olive Oil and Salt & Pepper. Place the dressed goodies onto a platter or bowl.
*note – we haven’t added a Vinegar component to this dish as the Pickled Beetroot Flavour Pearls have delicious White Balsamic Vinegar in them already but if you’d like a little more sour please add a drizzle of your favourite too
To serve
For either option it’s nice to add the Fetta and Pearls last. For the eat later salad just add a quick drizzle of EV Oil, Salt & Pepper and Oregano then simply top with your chosen Fetta and add a drained jar of Pickled Beetroot Flavour Pearls to finish.
