
Gin and Orange Slushie with Blood Orange Flavour Pearls
Don’t you just love a frozen cocktail!!! Well then you’ll love our new Gin and Orange Slushie with Blood Orange Flavour Pearls. It has only 3 ingredients and tastes incredible. Perfect for those hot Summer nights. So refreshing!
We managed to find some Blood Oranges at the supermarket for our garnish but they are not always easy to find so a slice of regular Orange is just great. Any edible flower makes for a pretty garnish too. Our Blood Orange Flavour Pearls add a pop of stunning flavour in the icy goodness. You just need to have a good blender that can blend ice cubes.
What you’ll need – this made 5 serves as pictured
- 3 Oranges
- 3 cups Ice Cubes
- 125 – 250ml Gin – to taste
- Orange – thinly sliced for garnish
- Edible Flowers – for garnish (we used Pansy’s – just bought a pot from Bunnings – wash first incase of pesticide)
- Mint Leaves – for garnish
- Blood Orange Flavour Pearls
To do
Lets get everything ready so we can just blend and serve our delicious cocktails easily.
Clean cold glassware at the ready. Perhaps a serving tray if it will make life easier. Pre-slice your Oranges for garnish. Pick and wash the Mint leaves. Pick and wash your edible flowers. Follow this link to see what other flowers could be used, there may just be some in your garden!
Using a sharp knife remove the skin from your oranges and roughly dice them.
At this point you can set everything aside until you’re ready to serve.
To serve
Simply put the chopped Orange and Ice in your blender. Add half of your Gin (we used a delightful Tanqueray Flor De Sevilla Gin from Uncle Dans) and blend on the ice crushing mode. Add more Gin once it starts to move a little. If you wish to make a non-alcohol version simply replace the Gin with a fruity cordial or juice.
Once everything is nicely blended you just simply pour/spoon your delicious Gin and Orange Slushie into your glasses. Add a slice of Orange, Flower, Mint Leaf and a spoonful of Blood Orange Flavour Pearls.
Now turn up the music and enjoy.
